How to Upload a CSV File and Send SMS Blasts on Plots
Sending SMS blasts through Plots allows you to reach your event audience efficiently. Follow these steps to upload a CSV file and send messages.
1. Verifying Your Account
Before you can send SMS blasts, your account must be verified.
To request verification, contact your sales representative or customer support agent.
2. Uploading a CSV File
Once verified, go to Host View and navigate to Groups.
Tap "Add New Group" and enter a group name.
Tap "Upload CSV" and select your CSV file.
Tap "Done" to complete the upload (this should take only a few minutes).
3. Sending an SMS Blast
After uploading your CSV, go to SMS Blasts.
Tap "Select Audience", then choose the group you just uploaded.
You can also select attendees from past events (if applicable).
Enter your message (maximum 140 characters, including the event URL).
4. Personalizing Your Message
Use the tools at the bottom to insert:
First Name
Last Name
Event URL
5. SMS Formatting Rules
To ensure successful delivery, do not use the following characters:
❌ Emojis
❌ Backslashes ( \ )
❌ Square brackets ( [ ] )
❌ Underscores ( _ )
❌ Less common punctuation
Apostrophe's are the most common invalid character used!
6. Sending the SMS Blast
After formatting your message, tap "Send SMS Blast".
Your message will be sent to all the contacts in your selected group.
